This Maton River is designated @ Brgy. Maton in Pudtol, Apayao.
Maton River is one of the cleanest river in our country. It is clear as ice especially during dry season, this is just the one of the hidden gems of Apayao where people can go fishing freely unless it is a "LAPAT" means no fishing zone, a culture of Apayao which is being practice up to this day.
Along the Maton River you can see those century old trees and millions of plants, wild flowers,orchids, many fish species and other species. As you travel, monkeys, wild deer, and wild pigs are present in the area. If you travel along the river, it's worth the price. It is where we can see, experience and witness the beauty of nature unexploited. And we invite you to definitely experience jumping from the 15-foot out crop for an exhilarating splash. For the more laid-back visitor, the varying levels of the river bed make for a good back massage. Just make sure to find a surface sturdy enough for you to lie on!
